Using the “Hallgrim” hat pattern from Interweave Knits, Winter 2012, learn the Bavarian twisted stitch technique. These stitches “pop” out of the yarn fabric making a fresh, clean line. Rose says it’s the best hat she’s ever made and she will guide you through learning the stitch technique, as well as one stitch cables without a cable needle!
One session (two if a class to learn provisional cast on is required): $30 ($50)
Skills required: CO, ktbl, p, kf&b, k2tog, p2tog, k2togtbl, k3togtbl, cabling, circular knitting, knitting with dpns, ability to read and follow charts
Skills learned: Bavarian twisted stitches (crosses and travelling stitches), marking threads
Materials required: 1 skein DK weight wool yarn, US #6 16″ circular needle, US #6 dpns, markers, Hallgrim Hat pattern from Interweave Knits Winter 2012.
