April focus

Whether it’s new spring colors or new projects to start, these days we’re looking forward.

Sharon Babbitt brings back her classic French Market Bag in mid-April.  Use new colors of feltable wool to knit then felt the perfect tote.  Class is April 12.

If you crochet, Virginia is offering a new 2 hour class to teach you how to change colors.  By making the traditional Granny Square, you will learn color change techniques that you can then transfer to the great crochet afghans that are trending on Ravelry.  Class is April 17.

A brand new class — Double Knitting starts on Saturday, April 26.  Use your eye for color to choose two high contrast worsted weight yarns.  Then learn how to make the double-layered fabric that becomes an amazing gift to amaze others when you say “I made it myself”.

And Rose has been a busy girl — 2 new classes and a classic.  On April 22, start the four sessions to make the Wonderful Wallaby.  Whether it’s for a child or adult, this classic pullover with pouch and hood teaches a variety of construction techniques including working from the bottom up, adding the sleeves to the yoke to continue to continue working in the round, and separating for a neck placket.

Then there’s Intro to Fair Isle.  This 2 hour class will be held several times over the next months to teach you “2 handed/2 stranded” knitting.  In other words, learn to knit Fair Isle with one color in each hand.  And believe me, this will come in handy when you see our new June class.

And finally, next month Rose introduces Perkins Cove from Ravelry.  This top-down, raglan sleeve  pullover is just the right weight for Houston and the perfect project for your first sweater.

Check out the class calendar on the website and if the date/time doesn’t work for you we will help you schedule at your convenience.
